Albert Nerenberg is an acclaimed director, journalist, hypnotist, and one of the world’s top experts on laughter. He is jokingly called a “Master of the obvious” as he specializes in revealing subjects that are right in front of us, Laughter. Stupidity, Boredom and Trance, all subjects of acclaimed featured documentaries he directs.
As a laughologist, he directed Laughology, the first ever feature documentary about laughter, a film which powerfully demonstrated the role of laughter in resilience. Key scenes were shot when he arrived by chance in India during the tragic Mumbai attacks in 2008. In 2011, greatest.com named him to the list of the 100 most influential people in Health and Happiness.
As a hypnotist, his famous demonstration of hypnosis for TEDX, is one of the most watched demonstrations of hypnosis in history. He is also the inventor of the Hypnotic Bar, a bar where he reveals the effects of alcohol and drugs are all in the mind. He is currently working on a new documentary about Hypnosis.
His new 2018 documentary You Are What You Act just took the Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the Illuminate Film Festival in Sedona, USA.
