Natalia Vodianova, as one of the world’s most successful supermodels and most influential celebrity in the global fashion scene, has always been aware of the power of digital media. In 2018 together with leading female platform Flo, she launched a campaign named “Let’s talk about it. Period.” through which she opened the conversation among women to break the taboo about menstruation all over the world. Partnership with UNFPA followed up shortly, the United Nations reproductive health and rights agency. This was taken to the global level in October 2018 where the inaugural Let’s Talk summit was held, which focussed on women’s health more broadly. The summit brought together global thinkers, influencers and business leaders all who are committed to breaking down the taboos and stigma’s surrounding women’s health. The platform will expand in 2019 with events in India, UK and Turkey.
She never stops stating her vision at the many prestigious events she took part into, including the Clinton Global Initiative, Global Citizen, First Ladies’ Luncheon, Web Summit, Founders Forum, Millennial Summit, and One Young World.
In 2010, she was awarded by Harper’s Bazaar as Inspiration of the Year, in 2014 Glamour recognised her as Woman of the Year and The Voice for Children award. In 2016 Mattel created the first Russian Barbie under her name. She received Vogue India's Women of The Year awards 2017.
But her social commitment has deep roots in the past. Her charity organisation, the Naked Heart Foundation, has been working over the last 14 years to tackle the stigma of disability. With great determination, she and the Naked Heart pursue their mission to help build an inclusive society that is open to people with disabilities and special needs, through encouraging play and creation of free support services for affected families. The Foundation strives to ensure that every child has a loving family and a stimulating place to play, delivering year after year new incredible results.
Through her digital platform Elbi, she strives to bring the power of notoriety to the causes that need the most attention. Technology is her ally in giving people efficient tools to act and empower them to bring a meaningful change, with high regard towards the youngest generation.
