• Rajnarayan (“Raj”) Balakrishnan joined DSP Merrill Lynch Limited in July 2000 and has almost 18 years of investment banking experience. Currently he is the Head of Investment Banking for BofA Merrill Lynch in India. Raj has considerable M&A, advisory and capital raising experience in a variety of sectors including telecom, technology, industrials, cement, autos, oil and gas, engineering, financial services consumer and media, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions.
• Raj has worked closely with SEBI, and has been a member of the SEBI Committee on Disclosures and Accounting Standards, and the SEBI Takeover Regulations Advisory Committee (“TRAC”) which made recommendations leading to adoption of the new takeover code in 2011.
• Previous Employment: Raj has worked with Tata Strategic Management Group prior to joining DSP Merrill Lynch Limited.
• Academic Qualifications: Raj received his post-graduate diploma in management from IIM-Calcutta and holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from VJTI, University of Bombay.
