William Smithson

Partner, SRS Advogados

William joined Simmons & Simmons as a trainee in London in 1987 before moving to Lisbon where he became a Partner in 2001, and then advanced to Managing Partner of the Lisbon office in 2004. Since 2009, William has been a Partner at SRS Advogados, and is currently a member of the SRS Advogados Administrative Board, as well as the firm’s Executive Committee.

Partner, Head of the Finance Department and Head of the Asia Desk of SRS Advogados, William Smithson is highly regarded within the corporate finance, banking, capital markets and real estate sectors. He advises investment banks and companies on a wide variety of finance matters, as well as public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other related work. He also advises on debt and equity capital markets transactions and has established an active structured securities practice and advises a number of banks on regulatory issues. With more than 25 years of experience, William has extensive knowledge of the Asian market due to his experience of working in Hong Kong, PRC and Singapore.
